This artwork was created following a difficult case of COVID. The combined experience of physical illness and social isolation had a further impact on the artist’s mental health. This painting was a way to cope and find strength. The style is a diversion from her usual style, using stillness and solid ground as a foundation for wellbeing. Against the colours of the Australian outback, the person on the horizon and green leaf in the breeze are symbols of the universal life journey, and the drive to ‘keep going’ even when the conditions are tough.
