This artwork is a journey through my art practice, it has components from my earlier stages as an artist. Sand runs through the middle of the artwork, connecting grass and sea. The shells have been added to the sand to give it a bay feeling. Above the sand the texture of the water has been created using a range of fabric and mixed media items. All embroidered birds except the Kookaburra are in shallow water. Beneath the sea and sand is a green field made from an old cricket shirt, and a screen-printed cricket player and dog. There is a second pair of screen-printed dogs, created from a drawing I did when I was 19. My Dad turned the drawing into a screen print.
