THREE BLUE FISH 1

Three Blue Fish invites the viewer beneath the water’s surface into a fleeting moment of reef life, where movement becomes light. Three small silver-blue fish shimmer as they dart through the water, their scales catching the sun like fragments of scattered glass. Beside them glides a vivid orange coral trout, calm and commanding, a bright presence among the quicksilver flashes around it.

Inspired by the artist’s experience while snorkelling, the work reflects the quiet wonder of observing marine life in its natural rhythm. In keeping with the exhibition theme Illuminate, the painting explores how sunlight transforms the underwater world, revealing colour, motion and brilliance in even the smallest creatures. It is a celebration of those luminous moments that appear, sparkle, and vanish in an instant.
